Is there a spot on the globe you consider to be off-limits? A non-negotiable? A not-in-my-lifetime kind of location? For most of us, the answer would be: Yes! There is a clear place(s) on the map that we would prefer to avoid altogether.
For many years it was the same way for Susan Freese. Six of our world’s seven continents represented new experiences full of adventure, excitement, and delicious food. The continent of Africa, on the other hand. . . well, that was a different story! Check out Susan’s story here to find out how her opinion changed.
At the end of this month, we are indeed headed to Africa! More specifically, we will join a team of 18 people headed to the nation of Uganda with One More Child (formerly Orphan’s Heart). One More Child is an international Christian ministry serving orphans and disadvantaged children in 16 countries. In Uganda, One More Child works alongside Hines Ugandan Ministries to serve the spiritual and physical needs of widows and orphans in two villages in Eastern Uganda: Kamonkoli and Soroti.
As a part of this team, we will assist social workers with home visits for sponsored children and families; participate in hosting a primary school assembly and Christmas parties for children and adults; small group book readings in schools; and an Awanas Bible outreach for kids. Our primary responsibilities of this trip will be to lead a Women’s Conference with 250 women planning to attend as well as an adult Bible study at the church in Kamonkoli and Soroti.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Uganda mission and All In Ministries financially! We are humbled by your sacrificial gifts and are grateful for the opportunities you are providing! Because of your support, AIM is able to purchase Bible Proclaimers and Bible Sticks from the organization Faith Comes By Hearing to give to several Ugandan Pastors who will use these audio devices in their villages. These tools are preloaded with the Bible and will allow many people to listen to the life-saving message of the Gospel!
