We know women influence women. But what are we influencing women toward?
The world screams loudly. Be this! Do that! Own this! Seek that! Loud. LOUD noise creating anxiety, discontentment, insecurities, depression, fear, guilt and shame.
However, in the midst of all of the noise, there is the still, small voice of the One True God – our Maker. He says we were designed in His image to receive His love, His peace, His contentment, His security, His joy, His rest, His cleansing from shame and guilt. He gives us new life. Complete life with a purpose.
Yet, many women and girls are too distracted to notice. We race after the next position, the next relationship or the next (fill in the blank). We are consumed with comparison or unhealthy competition. Eventually, we become restless and miserable until our souls are awakened. This isn’t anything mystical, but something spiritual. We are awakened to something more.
Part of receiving His love is understanding that our mess in life – our impure everything – costs something. In this case it cost someone. Jesus. The Bible says the consequence for our poor thoughts and actions is total separation from God… separation from all things good… all things lovely, pure, funny, sweet, beautiful, wild, precious. It’s all gone. Gone.
Yet, our Maker loved us so much that He didn’t want our mess to keep us from Him forever. What was the price to make things right? The price was the ultimate expression of love. He sent His son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and take our place, our consequence of death. Yes, he died on the cross… the event we remember on Good Friday every year. The event we’re still talking about and people are dying for 2,000+ years later. That event did not end on Good Friday.
Three days later, everything changed. Eternity changed. Death was defeated and Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He appeared to more than 500 people, instructed and empowered his friends, and ascended into heaven.
The Bible says if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have not done that yet, do it now. Don’t put it off. If you have questions, contact us. We can help you make sense of it all and take the next steps.
